Qualifying Statistics
Click a link from the right menu to select an area of statistics, and you will be able to access all the stats you need to make an informed decision about your betting.
- Scores Matrix - This shows the distribution of how different results occurred. Further details of which matches finished with a particular score can be got just by clicking on that score from the matrix.
- Goals - This gives details of how many goals per game, and - most importantly from a football betting point of view - when the first and last goals were scored.
- Half-Time Full-Time - Many bookmakers offer this bet, where the football punter has to predict the result at both half-time and full-time.
Long odds are often offered for a team to be trailing at the interval, but to go on and win in 90 minutes.
You can see here what the real likelihood is.
- Bookings - are another area popular for betting. Bookmakers generally offer a points-based system, with 10 points for a booking and 25 for a sending-off.
This page offers details of the points accumulated in different matches through the competition.
You can also access the statistics for each Confederation's qualifying rounds. Just click on the relevant link from the right menu.
Although football is played using the same rules all around the World, you will see a big difference between statistics for each conference.
For example, the CONMEBOL matches in South America see more than double the cards per game of the OFC (Oceania).
Still, this might be because of teams not having time to foul because they were too busy picking the ball out of the net. Australia's rampage through the mismatches that made up their qualifying group saw a goal glut. |
