Cameroon scrape victory over Saudi Arabia

Samuel Eto'o eventually scored the goal Cameroon that gave Cameroon a 1-0 victory over a vastly improved Saudi Arabia.

The match saw numerous Cameroon attacks, and a fair number of Saudi chances as well. After their terrible display against Germany, the Arab state gave a proud performance that perhaps deserved more. Instead, Saudi Arabia have become the first nation to be eliminated from the 2002 World Cup.

The game revolved around poor finishing from both sides, although Cameroon did have two goals ruled out for off-side.

Cameroon will now face Germany in their final game, while the Republic of Ireland will take on Saudi Arabia with one eye on goal difference.
