Brazil win scintillating match against Turkey
A fantastic match between Brazil and Turkey ended in controversy when Alpay Ozalan was sent off for bringing down Luizao, and Rivaldo scored from the penalty.
Replays confirm that the incident happened outside the area. Further misery was heaped on Turkey when Hakan Unsal was red-carded for kicking the ball at Rivaldo. Hasan Sas scored first for Turkey, with Ronaldo equalising.
Brazil provided an hugely entertaining display, with attacks stemming from all over the pitch. Ronaldo looked to be coming back to his best, and Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Juninho and Roberto Carlos all had great efforts.
Turkey were not overawed, however, and were more than in the match when Hasan Sas scored a superb free-kick in first-half injury-time.
Brazil attacked all through the second-half and probably deserved the victory.
However, Rivaldo's over-reaction to Unsal's petulance was disgraceful. When the Turk kicked-the ball the Rivaldo, it hit his body, but the Brazilian fell down clutching his face.
