Spain overcome Slovenia
Spain beat a weak Slovenia side 3-1, and in certain stages show promise of ability that could stand them in good stead in the knockout stages.
Goal machine Raul grabbed the opener, with Juan Carlos Valeron getting the second in the second half. Sebastjan Cimirotic set-up a nervy end to the game before Hierro scored a late penalty. Spain are now fourth favourites at 7.50 to win the tournament.
This was Spain's first ever opening game victory, and could the end of years of under achievement.
