Beckham fit for ninety minutes

The latest news from the England camp suggests that David Beckham will last the entire Sweden game. He has trained with the squad for the past three days, and has suffered no problems with his foot.

After surviving a few tackles without further injury, Beckham is confident that he will not break down midway through the game. However, he will have to wait to see whether he will be on the teamsheet for the opener.

Beckham has now started to talk of the belief that exists in the squad:

'You've got to believe. We believe we can beat Sweden and go on from there. But we're not taking anything for granted. They are a good team and have got some very good players.'

Although England are in the toughest group, Beckham insists that England are looking forward getting their World Cup campaign underway.

'We are not out here for a good laugh or joke. It is serious stuff.'
