Injury threatens Clement's World Cup

Belgium centre back Philippe Clement picked up a hamstring injury in yesterday's Belgian Cup Final, which his side Bruges won 3-1.

Belgium manager Robert Waseige now has a worrying wait to discover just how bad the injury is. After a fine season, Clement would be devastated to miss the World Cup Finals in Japan/South Korea this summer.

Clement has described his misery:

'I have played all season with the hope of going to the World Cup. Now the last match has possibly ruined my chances. It's a disaster.'

The loss of Clement could hit Belgium hard as they have also lost Joos Valgaeren from the squad.
