Ecuador World Cup squad annouced
Ecuador manager Hernan Dario Gomez has named the 23 players he will take to the World Cup over two weeks before the deadline, the first of the South American nations.
There are no surprises in the squad, who will be representing Ecuador at their first ever World Cup Finals. All the players who helped Ecuador qualify will be going, including veteran captain Alex Aguinaga.
The other prominent inclusion is forward Agustin Delgado, who makes the cut despite having only played four games since November due to a knee injury. Delgado was Ecuador's top goal scorer in qualifying with nine goals.
