Colombia urge Uruguay enquiry

The Colombian Football Federation is demanding an investigation into the draw between Uruguay and Argentina which knocked Colombia out of the World Cup qualifying race.

Despite Colombia's 4-0 win away to Paraguay, the 1-1 draw in Montevideo meant that Uruguay finished above Colombia on goal difference. Uruguay have since beaten Australia for the last World Cup place.

Colombian officials are concerned that the Uruguay match kicked-off ten minutes later than the Colombia game. They have also highlighted the apparent lack of effort by Argentina as being suspect.
