Shizuoka Information
The region of Shizuoka is home to Japan's most famous landmark, Mount Fuji. It is close to Tokyo, and has a beautiful Pacific shoreline.

In fact, the entire region is picturesque, with hot springs, mountains, rivers and lakes. Tourist attractions include the Sumpu and Kakegawa castles and the old Tokaido Road that has connected Kyoto with Tokyo since the 17th century.

The area is the nation's biggest producer of green tea, and is responsible for nearly half of Japan's national crop.
