Seoul Information
Seoul, the capital of Korea for 600 years, is a fascinating blend of ancient and modern. It is a truly cosmopolitan city, with huge amounts for visitors to see and experience.

Seoul is an experienced host of international sporting events, having staged the Olympic Games in 1988.

Seoul's strong cultural element is reflected in its 300 theatres, art galleries and museums. There are many live demonstrations of Korean culture, such as the Changing of the Royal Guard, and regular re-enactments of the Royal Marriage of Emperor King Gojon and Empress Myeongseong.

During the World Cup tournament, special festivals are planned including a Hangang Fireworks Festival and a Seoul Drum Festival.
